Squadron markings usually placed on fuselage sides forward of the tail. Hexagon – 85th Sqdn, SE-5A also on top of fuselage near rudder; Triangle - 23rd 43rd, and 148th (US) Sqdn; Boomerang – 4th Sqdn (AUS), points up; Dumbell – 17th (US) & 45th Sqdn; Horizontal Bar – 74th Sqdn; Vertical Bar – 41st, 1st Naval Sdqn.
